First week at home

The first week at home has been exciting and exhausting. Liam is a good baby - not super fussy, and still sleeping a lot. At night he has been giving us almost 3 hours between feedings. Breastfeeding has been going better than expected, he is a good eater. We saw the Dr. for his 1 week appt and his weight is up to where it should be, 8lb 4 oz. (up 4 oz. since release from hospital - just 3 days prior). He had lost some weight while in the hospital, which I guess is normal. It has been great having my mom around to help out. Kurt and I were even able to make it out to a movie together. Thanks Gramma!

Coming home from the hospital

The last day in the hospital was Saturday 9/23. We got up early and were anxious to take Liam home. After 4 nights in the hospital, we were also anxious to get home ourselves. Although not having the nursery nurses on call 24/7 would be challenging. Good thing - Gramma Merlinkey and Grampa Bob are waiting for us at home and will be staying a while to help out!

He is here!

So... it has taken me almost three weeks to post since Liam has arrived, I think being a new mom sort of delays things!

He was born Tuesday Aug. 19th at 12:59 pm at West Hills Hospital. He was born via planned C-section due to pregnancy onset hypertension and risk of shoulder dystocia due to him being a "big boy" ... he was 9 lbs!

9 lbs!

Serious nesting going on :)

So... Kurt is in New York, I have no plans today, so I have spent most of the afternoon... NESTING. I guess its normal right?

baby laundry - check
hospital bag packed - check
diaper bag packed - check
closet organized - check
stroller built - check
coming home outfit selected - check
and on and on and on....

i think the only things now left to do are:
- put the play yard together
- install car seat
- put the swing together
- wait for glider to arrive

oh... and wait for baby to arrive!

:)
