st. pattys day (a little late)

With the trip to Oregon and the pics from that, I haven't had time to post about Liam's 1st St. Patricks Day yet. We spent it at our very Irish friends house The Murphys. Heather made the full on traditional Irish dinner - Corned Beef and Cabbage and Potatoes and we washed it all down with green beer!

Liam liked Heather's Shamrock Shades!

Jim and Heathers daughter Mackenzie's middle name is Jameson, so we couldn't resist bringing a bottle over for the occasion.

Liam's Gramma Arlene brought over some St. Pattys Chocolate from Sees. Next year maybe Liam will be able to actually eat some... he sure tried this year though!

Every boy needs...

A dog (or two) and a red wagon!

(Grandma and Grandpa Deitz got Liam this wagon for Christmas, he loves it!)

Jinx thought it was her job to "herd" the wagon!
As usual, Ace doesn't cooperate with a posed photo for too long... Jinx is perfect (as usual)

Look at Liam's arm in this one, he looks like he is all relaxed and kicked back!

The nice people in Oregon!

When it comes to nice people.. you can find them in Oregon! Here are some pics of Liam with a few of the nice people he got to see while he was there. He already can't wait to go back :)

Grandma and Grandpa Deitz top the list of nice people! I mean - look at all of this attention at bath time!

Grandmas boy!

Fun with Grandpa.

Grandma and Sophie... double nice.

Reading the paper with Grandpa.

Meeting Uncle Mike for the first time.
(Mike is my only brother, and was happy to become an uncle before his 40th birthday... barely!)

"Auntie" Taylor - she is REALLY nice, and really cute too!

This is Josh - one of our bestest pals with his adorable son Grant and Liam... would you beleive Grant is a whole year older than Liam? They almost look the same size in this picture.

Austin - Josh's other adorable son - he is the most polite, well mannered,
amazing teenager i know!

Happy 7 months Lima Bean!

7 months!
7 is a very special number...
It is a prime number, there are 7 colors to a rainbow, there are 7 deadly sins, 7 spots on a ladybug, 7 wonders of the world, there are 7 days in a week... but mostly - it is just plain LUCKY... which is what we feel every day because you are around!
This past month has been so much fun... you spent it experiencing new foods, new places and new people. You got another ear infection which was a bummer - but you also earned your wings and flew on an airplane which was quite an accomplishment! You can now "moon crawl" which is the phrase that daddy has coined for when you crawl backwards (which is the only direction you can go right now) its so cute! You have a tooth! One on the bottom the last time i checked, but i am starting to see the signs of another one on the bottom, and two more on top! teething hasn't been a lot of fun for you - but you are a super trooper! You have figured out how to hold your bottle and sippy cup all by yourself! You can feed yourself Puffs, you pull my hair with a death grip - which HURTS by the way! You are very interested in anything shiny or sparkly - so if you ever look back at photos and wonder why your mommy didn't wear any jewelry last month... its because I didn't want my earrings ripped out of my ears. You grew out of your carseat, and about 120 articles of really cute clothing, went up a size in diapers and even got a flu shot. Most importantly, you visited your grandma and grandpa Deitz in Oregon, and oh my gosh were they happy to see you. Your Grandma did NOT want you to leave. In fact, she said Mommy and Daddy could go home, just leave Liam in Oregon! (Of course we couldn't do that, we would miss you too much!) We promised her we would come back soon.
We can't wait have lots more fun in this new lucky month!
xoxo
love you!

ps Liam - Happy First Day of Spring!

Travelling is hard work - Oregon, Day one.

These pictures document our travel day to Oregon last Friday. We had an 11:45 am flight, and left the house around 8:30 a.m. WAAAY earlier than normal... especially for seasoned travellers.. but we didn't know what to expect when flying w/ the babe. One tip for all of you out there w/ little ones - steer very clear of the "Family" line. Somehow they corralled us into this supposedly helpful line... which was anything BUT helpful. It was the sloooowest line EVER. We wised up and on the way home, we were through security in about 20 seconds flat in the normal line. (thank you Maclaren stroller!)
Even w/ the ear infection our little Lima Bean did GREAT on the plane ride (both there and back) We were so worried, but he was a real trooper and didn't cry... not even one tear.
I had so much fun w/ Liam on the plane, he was so curious about everything, and i even managed to stop obsessing over all of the germs and just enjoy this "first" with my little family.
We were lucky and had the whole row to ourselves, so Liam had his own seat.
He took FULL advantage of his own seat and took a nice long nap! (YAAAY)
Here is Daddy and Liam coming off the plane. This little umbrella stroller is a Maclaren Triumph - another travel tip - GET ONE , it was a dream!
It is a family tradition that my parents take us to McMenamins to eat on the way to their house after picking us up from the airport. We all got to enjoy a nice glass of their very delicious house brewed Ruby Ale... Liam enjoyed some of that fresh, clean and pure Oregon water with some banana puffs, and his first trip to the pub.

Luckiest baby ever! His Grandma had a crib set up for him at their house with the most adorable jungle bedding. He felt right at home, and within about a second became the new king of the Oregon Castle. Thanks Grandma-linkey!
Grandma got to feed Liam every day - and even had all the feeding gear ready for him. Like the bib that says "Grandma said I could"? PS can you see all of those trees outside the window - gotta love Oregon for that! Beautiful.

End of day 1.... Supercrash!

weekend life - regular style.

It was a really... "regular" weekend... nothing fancy.
But we managed to have a fun time just being together and running errands.
Because my camera is broken at the time, all photos are from Kurts phone, so the quality is really poor, but you get the point.

oh - one day we forgot to capture was our fun saturday spent strolling the 3rd st promenade in Sanata Monica... we'll get it next time. (I am particularly bummed that i didn't get a shot of kurt carrying Liam on his shoulders, which was really awesome and precious all at the same time)

If you want to know what it is like to be held by a 101 year old man (almost 102) ask Liam... he spent some QT w/ his Great Grandpa this weekend, and thouroughly checked him out! Grandpa wears an emergency button around his neck... i think Liam pushed the button a time or two... luckily it wasn't a 911 response!
Liam got super-rastafari with Dad while Mom was working.

We had a sunny weekend, and we all wore shades, Liams were the best.
He is really serious here, because all he wants to do is look at that fountain behind him...
We shopped at Costco!

Costco on the weekends is very tiring.

Did I mention it was tiring??

The missing Jolie-Pitt?? You decide.

I will start with the disclaimer that neither Kurt or I look ANYTHING like Angelina Jolie OR Brad Pitt.
My cute cousin Taylor commented that Liam looks like he could be Shiloh's little brother in this picture taken by Heather in her new studio!
(this is shiloh)
